OOC Info: The information below can be considered general knowledge. It can be assumed that your character had an opportunity to come across this information in their travels or that if they were to 'look it up', this information would be straight forward to obtain.

The Waymuth Justice Force (WJF) was created by the Corporate Council of Waymuth City via the decision to enact the Waymuth Code of Militant Justice. The WJF is empowered with the ability to apprehend, judge and punish criminals in the city walls. They operate out of the Hall of Justice.

The WJF's primary means of enforcing the Code of Law is through the Street Judge.

Judicial Authority

All members of the active WJF are entitled to ultimate authority in regards to any criminal activities that occur within the jurisdictional space of Waymuth City. This includes any area in the city that does not have sovereign immunity according to the Corporate Independence Act of 2069, embassies, out laying settlements, and controlled vector territory and property in orbit around or located on any body inside our solar system.

The laws of Waymuth City are a guideline for empowered and active Judges, and a Judge may at any time interpret a situation or sentencing as they see fit, in regards to the nature of the crime, be it a more severe or more lenient punishment.

The foundation of Waymuth City is its absolute justice and no one is above the Law.

Hierarchy of Judges

There are numerous positions within the Waymuth Justice Force for Judges to take on. Below is a list of the internal hierarchy within the Waymuth Justice Force, from top to bottom.

Each position more or less inherits the duties and benefits of the one below them, with some exceptions.

Chief Justice

The Waymuth Justice Force is led by a selection of Chief Justices chosen by the Corporate Council. These Judges serve as the leaders of the WJF and generally operate behind a desk or at Judge ceremonies. Chief Justices are rarely, if ever, heard from the general public. Their main functions are to ensure the quality of all the Judges and their Judgments, perform expulsion rituals for disgraced Judges, and serve as the face of the Waymuth Justice Force, among other things.

Staff Judge

Staff Judges are looked upon to refine the training of rookie Street Judges and turn them into a more refined Street Judge. Thus, the functionality of a Staff Judge is akin to that of an instructor than a foot soldier. Despite this, Staff Judges also patrol around Waymuth City, though usually higher class areas. Staff Judges may have numerous Street Judges under their jurisdiction and often may accompany their Street Judge on patrols.

Street Judge

Street Judges are rookies who have passed their test and are allowed full interpretation of the Law. Street Judges are given a Judge's full, proper kit and are expected to perform their duties independently. Street Judges are the main forces who patrol the streets and ensure Justice is delivered to the people of Waymuth City. They are all that stands between Crime and Justice.

Rookie Street Judge

Rookie Street Judges are simply that, rookies in the process of becoming proper Street Judges. They are not given a Judge's kit and are not allowed to perform the duties of Judges without their instructor present. A rookie Street Judge is expected to pass a specific test dictated by their instructor. Upon passing their test, they are promoted to Street Judges.
